Rasa - Israeli soldiers on Tuesday opened fire at a Palestinian man at Qalandiya checkpoint, at Ramallah-Jerusalem road, killing him on the spot, according to the Ministry of Health.

Rasa - Israeli army claimed that the man, who was identified as Jihad Saeed, 48, from the village of Beit Wazan near Nablus, had attempted to stab soldiers manning the checkpoint, before they shot him dead, WAFA reported.

 

The army denied access of medical teams to the scene to provide him with first aid before he was announced dead.

 

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers set fire to a Palestinian-owned home in Masafer Yatta to the South of Hebron, according to a local activist.

 

Rateb al-Jabour, coordinator of the popular committee against the separation wall and settlements, told WAFA settlers from the Israeli settlement of Beit Yatir, built illegally on Palestinian-owned land, attacked the home of Mohammed Abu Qbaita, with Molotov cocktails, setting fire to the house and causing financial damages.

 

No one was injured in the attack.
