RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Seyyed Hoseyn Naqavi-Hoseyni, the spokesman for the Iranian Parliament’s Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy, expressed his opinions on the November 8th American election and said that in regard to this election in which Republican candidate Donald Trump won a surprise victory over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, “After nearly 400 years, the Americans were forced to decide between two views and two parties and no other political groups were able to participate in the election.”
The representative of the people of Varamin in the Iranian Parliament added that the American people were forced to choose between the Democratic and Republican parties and during the election campaign, the real face of the United States and the US’ domestic and foreign policies were displayed.
Naqavi-Hoseyni said both the Democratic and Republican candidates spoke of fraud and said the question arises that unless there is a third choice in the American election, both parties will say that fraud has occurred. “Eventually, they confessed to fraud in the elections,” he added.
He explained that the candidates showcased some of the internal corruption and disasters within the system of government in the US and uncovered the reality of American society. “The choice in the election also showed the American peoples’ protest against their government was not a protest against a kind of thought or person in the election but rather a protest against the government system but the people had no choice but to vote for one of the two candidates,” he said.
The MP expressed the vote for Trump was a protest against the ruling system in the US and said that the people sought refuge from discontent with the Democrats by voting for the Republicans, adding, “In regard to the past and the opinions that Trump expressed, his election has made the many people worried about what he wants to do.”
Naqavi-Hoseyni criticized any happiness over the election of one candidate or the displeasure at loss of another and stressed that the US is the enemy of our nation and there is no difference who governs this aggressive country because whoever governs the US will govern within the framework of enmity with the Iranian nation.
He pointed out that the US is a hegemonic power, a traitor, an aggressive power, guilty of crimes against humanity and a violator of human rights and therefore, it is really unfortunate if someone was to express satisfaction or displeasure over this election.
