RNA - "We urge all Muslim states to help each other foil the enemies' plots," Zarif  said on Monday, addressing the First International Conference on Geopolitical Crises in the Islamic World in Tehran.

He pointed to Israel as the main problem facing the Muslim world, and said, "Muslim states should respond to the Zionist regime (Israel)’s violations of the Palestinian people’s rights.”

The Iranian foreign minister said that some reactionary governments in the Middle East have been trying hard to portray Islam’s main problem as discord between Shiites and Sunnis.

In relevant remarks in late September, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said Israel and its regional allies are attempting to sideline the Israeli-Palestinian issue through escalating terrorist groups' operations in the region.

"The most important attempt made by enemies is changing the threat calculus from the danger of the Zionist regime to the region to the self-made terrorist and Takfiri groups and unfortunately, the abundant efforts and propaganda of the Western and Israeli media in this regard have been effective," Shamkhani said, addressing a gathering in Tehran.

He also warned of the Saudi regime's political attempts and the Takfiri and terrorist groups' acts to marginalize the Palestinian issue, and said all their plots have fallen flat by the preparedness of popular forces in Iraq, Syria and Yemen to fight against the enemies.

Such preparedness "has paved the ground for the materialization of the cause of the freedom of Palestine more than ever", Shamkhani said.
