RNA - Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi condemned the suicide blast in the town of Ain al-Tamr, and extended his condolences to the Iraqi government and people over the loss of their beloved ones in the terrorist attack.

He also reiterated Iran's full support for the Iraqi government and nation in the war on terrorism.

Officials said on Monday that a suicide attack in Central Iraq has killed at least six people, including women and children.

The Interior Ministry said the bomber blew himself up in the town of Ain al-Tamr after security forces killed five of his accomplices and surrounded him in a house.

Six other people were wounded in the blast.

Ain al-Tamer is located 50 kilometers West of the Shi'ite shrine city of Karbala.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, which came as Iraq's Shi'ite majority were preparing to mark the end of a 40-day mourning period for the 7th century death of Imam Hossein, the Prophet Mohammad's grandson.
