RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh said in this era of globalization, the role of individuals is increased relative to the system and added, “In regard to this meaning, the media works so that the people pay less attention to the system. With this analysis, we can understand that the recent American election was shaped by these standards and contradicted all the polls.”

The representative of the Eslamabad-e Gharb County in the Iranian Majles added that the victory of the American Republican Party candidate Donald Trump over the Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton surprised many of the world’s politicians. Of course, it should be noted that even before the election, the political and party system of politics in the United States were under question to a significant degree.

“In these circumstances, individuals such as Trump enjoy support from behind the scenes of the system but outwardly, they strongly criticize the system. This type of political behaviour can be considered as a new model in the world of politics,” he said.

Referring to Trump’s future actions, Falahatpisheh said, “Ultimately, individual actions like those of Trump would also be consistent with structuralism and he will continue on the same path and follow the same strategies that the US political system has followed throughout the 21st century.”

He said that Trump’s main concerns are in regard to domestic issues such as economic depression because most of those who voted for him are facing economic problems and the US doesn’t want to lose its current position.

“Based on possible forecasts, by 2050 the US may fall to the seventh country in the world economically,” he said.

The member of the Majles in the western province of Kermanshah explained that the US still faces regional security issues such as the danger of Daesh and while the Arab and the Zionist lobbies supported Clinton during the election campaign and Trump sees these issues as a threat.

“Specifically, the current hated of Saudi Arabia toward Trump will not be less than its hatred of Iran,” he said.

In regard to the effect of Trump’s election on Iran, Falahatpisheh said that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was an agreement between the US and Iranian governments and international organizations and someone like Trump cannot sabotage it and return to the pre-JCPOA conditions.
