RNA - "Iran's view on Iraq is based on unity, solidarity, integrity of territories, maintaining independence and non-interference of foreign countries in Iraq and finally its reaching security, peace and development," Rahmani Fazli told reporters in the Western city of Sanandaj on Thursday night.
Stressing highly friendly relations with Iraq, he said, "Iran has not spared any efforts to do everything it could for Iraq upon its demand."
In relevant remarks late October, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari reassured Baghdad officials of Tehran's serious support for Iraq in the campaign against the terrorist groups.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its all-out support for the Iraqi government and nation in confronting terrorism," Jaberi Ansari said in a meeting with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Nazar Khairallah in Baghdad.
Noting that extremism and terrorism are seriously threatening the region and the world, he underscored the need for Iran and Iraq to cooperate in resolving the current crises and problems in the region and holding bilateral and multilateral meetings to this end.
Khairallah, for his part, referred to the common threats and interests and the strategic ties between the two countries, and appreciated Iran for its supports for Iraq.
During the meeting, the two officials also conferred on the latest developments in the region.
