RNA - "Those that have created and supported the terrorist, extremist and Takfiri groups want to strike at certain legal regional governments in a bid to meet their ominous and divisive goals, while we witness that the danger of these groups is not limited to the region and we already witness terrorist events in Europe and different parts of the world every now and then," Velayati said in a meeting with Swiss Deputy Foreign Minister Yves Rossier in Tehran on Wednesday.
He called on the world states to show serious and real determination to fight against terrorism.
Rossier, for his part, underlined Iran's role in resolving the regional problems, and expressed the hope that more active political talks on Syrian and Iraqi issues would lead to the establishment of sustainable peace in the region.
In relevant remarks in July, Velayati blasted the US and certain reactionary regimes in the region for their support for terrorist groups, and said Washington's proxy war has now endangered security and stability in Europe.
"As we have announced repeatedly and since the start of these events (the terrorist attacks in the region and Europe), these actions which are carried out with the support of certain European states, the reactionary regional states and the US will not remain limited to the region and this proxy war will threaten the global peace and stability and we are witnessing its result in Europe too," Velayati told FNA on the sidelines of a conference in Singapore dubbed 'Growth through Interaction – the South Asian Opportunity'.
He warned of enemies' plots to disintegrate and create rift among the regional states, and called for firm will and convergence among the regional and world countries to fight against violence, terrorism, extremist and Takfiri streams.
Velayati also underlined his country's position on regional events, and stressed Iran's strong opposition to double-standard approaches towards terrorism that have created the category of bad terrorists and good ones as an instrument to exert pressure and stage coups to overthrow the legal governments.
