Rasa - A senior military commander announced that the Yemeni army and popular forces have inflicted heavy damage and casualties on the forces loyal to former fugitive President Mansour Hadi in Ma'rib province.

RNA - "The Yemeni forces are now in full control of the Western part of Ma'rib province after inflicting tens of casualties on pro-Hadi militias," Senior Ansarullah Commander Ali Al-Houthi told FNA on Wednesday.

 

Al-Houthi reiterated that the Yemeni army and popular forces also thwarted several attacks by pro-Hadi militias on their military positions, and said, "Several tanks of the forces loyal to Mansour Hadi were also destroyed by the Yemeni forces."

 

On Sunday, a large number of pro-Hadi militias were killed and their armored vehicles destroyed, when Yemeni forces targeted their position in Wadi al-Rabia area of Sirwah district in Yemen’s Central province of Ma’rib.

 

Also on Sunday, Al-Houthi announced that the Yemeni forces had made considerable military gains against the pro-Saudi troops in Ma'rib and al-Jawf provinces and a senior pro-Hadi commander has been killed in the battle.

 

"The Yemeni forces have advanced in the Eastern and Northeastern fronts of Ma'rib and al-Jawf provinces," Al-Houthi told FNA.

 

He, meantime, said that senior pro-Hadi commander Abu Omar was killed in tough battle with the Yemeni army and Ansarullah forces in the Southern part of Ma'rib province.

 

A local source in Ma'rib province, meantime, disclosed that the Yemeni army and popular forces took control of a military site in Wadi al-Tarif in the province. 
Saudi Arabia has been engaged in the deadly campaign against Yemen since March 2015. the death toll from the military aggression is currently at 11,800.
