Rasa - Iranian Border Guards Commander Brigadier General Qassem Rezayee and his Iraqi counterpart Brigadier General Hamed Abdullah Ebrahim in a meeting in Baghdad on Monday underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation.

RNA - During the meeting in the Iraqi capital today, the Iranian and Iraqi border guards commanders explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating of bilateral ties in the field of border security.

 

The 6th Annual Meeting of Iran-Iraq Border Guards Commanders was held in Baghdad on Monday.

 

Brigadier General Rezayee and Brigadier General Ebrahim also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the end of their meeting.

 

In January, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined the country's continued aid and assistance to the Iraqi government and nation for their ultimate victory against the terrorists.

 

General Dehqan made the remarks in a meeting with Iraqi National Security Adviser Falih al-Fayyadh in Tehran.

 

He also described unity among the Shiite, Sunni and other groups in Iraq as a great achievement which should be continued until final victory against the ISIL and even after that.

 

Fayyad, for his part, appreciated Iran for its important and vital assistance to Baghdad which accelerated the Iraqi nation's victories against terrorism.
