RNA - Israeli sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, claimed that a soldier sustained injuries when a Palestinian youth carried out a stabbing attack at a security checkpoint near the Tel Rumeida neighborhood in the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron), located 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Jerusalem al-Quds, on Saturday morning.
Israeli forces then opened fire, killing the Palestinian on the spot.
The development came only a day after a Palestinian man was shot and killed over an alleged stabbing attack in the same southern West Bank city.
On Friday, Israeli soldiers opened fire from close range at a pickup truck near the entrance to the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement, located on the outskirts of al-Khalil, killing a man and wounding a woman on board.
Israeli media outlets later claimed that the unarmed couple had rammed the vehicle into a bus stop outside the entrance to the settlement. Three people were apparently injured in the alleged attack.
Earlier, Israeli forces had also shot and killed a young man, who was reported to be a Jordanian national, at the Damascus Gate to the Old City of Jerusalem al-Quds. Israeli police claimed they had seen the 28-year-old man coming toward them with a knife drawn and had opened fire.
The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed new tensions ever since Israeli forces imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds in August 2015.
More than 240 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces in the tensions since the beginning of last October.
