RNA - “The Arab League secretary general’s supports for the Saudi unconstructive conduct has discredited the league more than ever,” Director General of International Affairs at the Iranian Parliament Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Saturday.

His comments came after the Arab League’s ministerial meeting in Cairo, where Ahmed Abul Gheit reiterated the Arab League’s support for Saudi Arabia.

Elsewhere in his comments, Amir Abdollahian, also a former deputy foreign minister, reminded the Egyptian secretary general of the Arab League that “Saudi Arabia is too baffled” to be able to have other Arab states come under its umbrella.

The Arab League should criticize Saudi Arabia’s support for terrorism and find a way to support the Palestinian nation instead of backing the Saudi military aggression and conduct in Yemen, Syria, Bahrain and Iraq, as well as its incompetence for handling the Hajj pilgrimage.

More than 460 Iranians were among the thousands of pilgrims who died on September 24, 2015, in a crush in Mina, near Mecca, during the Hajj pilgrimage.

The incident marked the worst ever tragedy during Hajj.
