Rasa - The Syrian foreign ministry strongly rejected using poisonous gases in al-Sukari neighborhood of al-Sukari in the city of Aleppo, and termed it a propaganda attempt by the terrorist groups to overshadow the army's military advances in the province.

RNA - "The real criminal in all cases in which gas attacks have been used have been the terrorists who carry out the instructions of their masters in order to defame the achievements of the Syrian army," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The Syrian foreign ministry said that the terrorist groups and their western and regional masters as well as their intelligence and media agencies always circulate propaganda against Syria through fabricating baseless accusations of the use of toxic chemical materials, like chlorine gas and others in many areas of Syria.

"After every crime by those groups and their supporters, particularly the Western countries, and use of poisonous gases, like the case in Khan al-Asal in 2013, those organizations and sides commit another crime," the statement added.

The foreign ministry said that the Syrian government immediately contacted the Health Directorate in Aleppo which confirmed that it didn’t receive any medical emergency case in the hospitals due to injuries caused by toxic, poisonous chemicals.

"Syria affirms its conviction that the use of chemical weapons by anyone at any place and under any circumstance is unacceptable,” the statement said.

It added that while condemning the use of the toxic gases against the Syrian people by the terrorist groups and their masters which claimed the lives of innocent civilians, the Syrian government reiterates its readiness to cooperate with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and its delegation which is present now in Syria to investigate into these crimes and others.

In late August, the US has called on Russia and Iran to help make the Syrian government accountable for allegedly using chlorine against civilians as Damascus complains that the UN ignored hundreds of reports on chemical attacks filed by the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Analyst Rostislav Ishchenko, the head of the Center for Systems Analysis and Forecasting, pointed out that the UN and other organizations turned a blind eye to documents and evidence provided by Syrian authorities on gas attacks that were carried out by militant groups.

Syrian envoy to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari had told that the UN ignored hundreds of reports on chemical attacks filed by the Syrian government.

The Analyst maintained that the US is adding fuel to the fire with respect to the recent report because militant groups trying to overthrow Bashar al-Assad are losing in Aleppo.

Experts agree that the outcome of the ongoing battle for Syria's second largest city will most likely determine the future of the country, as the Syrian Army and its allies are racing towards Aleppo after completing siege of the city and capturing the most vital stronghold of the militants in the region.

"The defeated party in Aleppo will lose in the Syrian conflict. A defeat in Syria will lead to the US losing its status in the Middle East," the analyst said. "It will also put an end to Washington's attempts to maintain hegemony. This is why the US is ready to raise the risk bar to the maximum," he added.
