RNA - They appeal to xenophobia and racism. They give to bigotry and Islamophobia no sanction, to persecution and terror no assistance. We have heard them say Muslims cannot be trusted and allowed into the United States. We have been told that Muslim refugees are all terrorists and should never be taken in by Fortress Europe. We have been told that Muslim should not be allowed to become president because Islam does not reflect Western values. We have even been told that Shiite Muslims are not Muslim at all.
Most of these terrible ideas have risen from political candidates in the West and/or their regime-change wars in Muslim heartlands. These are Americans and Europeans who have conveniently and purposely ignored International Law and International Humanitarian Law. But that's not all.
They have also funded and armed vigilante movements in Eastern Europe to hunt down refugees from the Middle East, physically abusing, hurting and robbing them, and expelling them. They patrol as vigilantes in riot gear against refugee camps. They help the police and the army in border control. They even burn down refugee camps.
Everywhere in Eastern Europe such right-wing private militias and vigilantes have grown. It’s an uncontrolled and dangerous phenomenon. As a consequence, xenophobia expressed through violence against European Muslims, migrants and refugees is on the rise. It has turned European racism up to a full boil.
This includes the lethal impact of Europe's anti-refugee policies on the thousands of Syrian refugees who have died trying to circumvent Europe's strict immigration policies. Their only sin was that they were fleeing the West’s natural resource exploitation and military intervention in the Middle East and North Africa that has caused the current refugee tsunami. And guess what, the regime changers have no solution to these crises. Their military conflagrations for fossil fuel hegemony have destroyed almost everything, and reconstruction is not on the agenda.
All these incendiary tactics and wicked programs are similar to those used by the death cult of ISIL. The racist hordes in the West have effectively weaponised xenophobia, Islamophobia and bigotry. They all seek in varying degrees to recover a “glorious” past, a past that most certainly, in reality, did not exist anywhere, ever. And they do this by terrorising people, making the world community nervous, feel terrible, and then emphasize it's all because of a particular group, lying within, or foreign and menacing.
It’s a cautionary tale and the agenda is fairly obvious: Increased surveillance power, increased state police power, increased military power, and a thoroughgoing support for continued war against Islam and Muslims. It's the prelude to what can really be described as nothing other than pouring more fuel on the flames of Islamophobia, racist hatred, and radical authoritarian nationalism. What a waste.
