Rasa - There has been no change in Russia's plan to reinvigorate its naval and aerial presence in war on terrorism in Syria, the Russian media wrote.

RNA - "The Russia's Aircraft Carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov, with scores of advanced fighter jets is close to Mediterranean Sea. It will enter Syria's waters in the next weeks to boost Russian forces' capabilities in rooting out militancy in the Middle-Eastern country," Izvestia reported.

"Kuznetsov carries at least 10 Sokhoi 33 equipped with the most modern weapons," the paper said.

The Russian media said in a report on Saturday that the country's aircraft carrier dispatched to Syria's waters will enable the Air Force to increase significantly the quantity and quality of airstrikes on terrorist groups' strongholds in the war-hit country in coming weeks.

"Kuznetsov, is equipped with cutting-edged systems which will remarkably boost the Russian warplanes to carry out much more precise air attacks on terrorist groups' defense lines across Syria," Izvestia said.

"Sukhoi-33 fighter jets, deployed in the aircraft carrier, are equipped with advanced SVP-24 detecting and targeting system," the paper added.

"SVP-24 system will enable Russian fighter jets to fire non-guided bombs as exact as guided ones," the report said.

"In addition to SVP-24, multi-function Mikoyan MIG-29 fighters, which have been recently deployed to this aircraft carrier, will use guided bombs and missiles against terrorists' positions," the report added.

"SVP-24 system is capable of conducting a comparing analysis from the situation of airplane and its targets. It can also measure several parameters, including humidity, wind speed, and the angle of attack. The system can also receive more information about AWACS planes, command stations and other planes," the paper wrote.

Reports said in late August that Russian would reinvigorate its anti-terrorism operations in Syria via deployment of its Aircraft Carrier near the Syrian coasts in the Mediterranean Sea, sources said.

"Russia's war on ISIL terrorists will strengthen by dispatch of Kuznetsov aircraft carrier to the Mediterranean Sea near the waters of war-hit Syria," sources said.

An informed source told Ria Novosti that Kuznetsov carrier was under the last phases of technical checks and will be ready to do its missions in Syria till end of September.

A senior Russian navy officer said earlier this month that Russia's Aircraft Carrier was preparing to start flights of the country's latest fighter jet from near the Syrian coasts.

"There is a need to launch the system before the aircraft-carrier enters the Mediterranean sea and it should get prepared for starting Mig-29 fighter jet missions by the end of 2016," the Arabic-language media quoted an unnamed Russian navy officer as saying.

The news came as the Russian navy dispatched its Admiral Kuznetsov to the Eastern waters of the Mediterranean Sea to join the anti-terrorism operations in Syria.

The Kuznetsov is now working with Sukhoi-33 for tracking operations, but it lacks the capability of the Mig-29 fighter jets to hit the land targets.

"Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier will be deployed to Eastern Mediterranean Sea between the months of October 2016 and January 2017," a Russian diplomat was quoted by media sources as saying.

"Chief Staff of the Russian Army has prepared a plan based on which the aircraft carrier's crew will exercise the processes of the fighter jets' take off from the their landing on the carrier," the diplomat said, adding, "The bombers on the board of aircraft carrier will cooperated with those in Humeimim airbase in Syrian coasts."

"The carrier will be deployed to the nearest distance to Syrian lands to have enough fuel for long-distance combat flight over the country," the sources further added.

"The carrier is projected to host at least 15 Sukhoi-33, Sukhoi-27 and Mig-29 and 10 choppers of K52, K27 and K31 in Syrian mission," the source went on to say.
