Rasa – Ali al-Fayez accused the Al Khalifah regime of selling Bahrain to the colonial powers and added that they seek to open the tiny Persian Gulf country to imperialism once again.

RNA – In an interview with the media, Ali al-Fayez, the president of the Bahraini Association for Freedom, referred to the crimes and severe oppression against Bahrain’s Shi’a-majority population by the Al Khalifah regime and said that this regime has brutally attacked the Bahraini peoples’ spirituality, religious principles and spiritual leaders.

The Bahraini political analyst said the people were leading cause of independence and the end of British colonial rule in Bahrain and stressed that the Al Khalifah family had no role in Bahrain’s independence from British rule and only demanded that the government be handed to them.

He added that due to the Pahlavi regime in Iran’s support of Bahrain, the Al Khalifah bowed down to the Shah. “Unfortunately, due to the colonial policies of the Al Khalifah regime, once again the colonialists have returned to the country in a different way,” he said.

al-Fayez stated Al Khalifah regime’s actions are in contradiction of international law and stressed that the Al Khalifah doesn’t have permission to stop Friday prayers or suppress the people and religious scholars.

He described the demands of the people as legitimate and added that the people of Bahrain only want their basic rights and to participate in the political governance of the country.

The people sit-in thwarted the imperialists’ plots

Referring to the two-month sit-in in front the house of Ayatollah Isa Qasim in the town of Diraz, al-Fayez said that Al Khalifah doesn’t have the power to expel, arrest or attempt to assassinate the leader of Bahrain’s Shi’as.

“The message of the Bahraini people’s protest to the world is that despite the intense suppression by the Al Khalifah, they will not retreat from their demands and will continue to adhere to their revolution,” he said.

al-Fayez said that the sit-in is the reason that the plots of the Al Saud, Al Khalifah, the United States and the United Kingdom have been neutralized and added that through this sit-in, the Bahraini people have proven that every weapon that the Al Khalifah use against the Bahraini people’s determination, will and demands is inefficient and if they want to continue their heinous acts, they must shed the Bahraini people’s blood.

The political activist stressed that by arresting high-ranking clerics, the Al Khalifah seeks to end the peoples’ sit-ins.
