RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Javad Nour-Mousavi explained the situation in Sweden, where he has worked as an Islamic missionary, saying that the Swedish people are a calm people who are mostly secular, but historically follow the Lutheran denomination of Protestant Christianity.
The Iranian cleric added that the population of this Scandinavian country is approximately ten million of whom, about two million are immigrants, of which one million are Muslims of various denominations, ethnicities and cultures.
His Eminence said that Sweden’s economic conditions are good and the people are afforded a comfortable life. From a social perspective, there is no discrimination against ethnic or religious clothing or language and even those who swear the black Iranian chador or Somali dress or any other type of clothing.
Hujjat al-Islam Nour-Mousavi noted that one’s personal privacy is respected and thus inappropriate behaviour with foreigners and outsiders is not so obvious. Each person is entitled to exercise their rights according to the law, even if it is freedom to express religious ideas as long as it isn’t to the detriment of others’ peace and comfort.
He said that the Saudi-Wahhabi influence on Sunni Muslim immigrants in Sweden is strong and the Wahhabi ideology is spreading among the country’s youth, which gives rise to anti-Shi’a and pro-ISIL sentiments.
His Eminence added that six years ago, the Saudi government spent three million euros to construct a large mosque in the city of Gothenburg, adding that ISIL-supporters, Takfiris and moderate Sunnis have separate mosques. “This means that there is a kind of public outrage against them… However, there are many immigrants in Europe who have been attracted to ISIL.” he added.
The Shi’a missionary expressed concern that there are more than 45,000 Shi’as from various countries in Gothenburg, but no Shi’a mosques in Sweden’s second-largest city. He added that religious knowledge among many Shi’as is poor, allowing Wahhabi’s opportunities to propagate doubts and false information among them. There are also few resources and efforts to refute these doubts. “If Shi’as don’t provide Islamic centres and activities for the youth, the Wahhabis will provide them,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Nour-Mousavi also added that many Iranians in Sweden have lost their faith and some have converted to Christianity.
The Iranian missionary said that he has visited refugee camps and has seen for himself that people of different nationalities are recruited by ISIL in various European countries and are sent to Norway, Saudi Arabia and even Israel. Saudi Arabia spends a lot of money on propagating Wahhabism in the West and Shi’as are relatively weak in the area of religious propagation.
He explained that ISIL was formed in the heart of Europe by the United States and Israel with Saudi Arabia’s support. This is part of a detailed plan where refugees are chosen and passed through different filters to train and be educated as terrorists in Europe. These groups are not even looking for irreligious people, but rather naïve and simple-minded religious people who are persistent in this regard so they can use them to attain their goals.
