RNA – Speaking during a ceremony in the southern Lebanese village of Majdal Zoun, Hujjat al-Islam Nabil Qawouq, the vice-president of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, referred to the announcement that the Takfiri terrorist group, the al-Nusrah Front, has changed its name to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham [Front for the Conquest of Syria], saying that the changing of their name, façade and allegiance of this group is a new victory for the Resistance Axis and added that by renaming themselves, they have admitted their defeat.
The Lebanese Shi’a cleric referred to the support of this terrorist group and sale advanced weapons to them by certain countries, saying that the Syrian Arab Army and its allies have gained ground in Aleppo and other areas and have changed the political and military equation and standards of strength and established a new phase.
“The equation after Aleppo will not like it was the past in any way and this new victory will be an indication of the great victory over the Takfiri and Zionist project,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq said that with its new name, the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham has targeted Lebanon and Damascus and thus, the hostility of the al-Nusrah Front’s Takfiri terrorist project hasn’t changed, just as we haven’t changed and will not change.
He stressed that the Lebanese government should officially announce that the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham’s name change doesn’t mean that they are immune from prosecution and punishment and stressed that the government can’t remain silent to their presence in Arsal and on Lebanese territory because of their name change.
Saudis issued no fatwa regarding boycott of Israel
In other remarks, the senior Lebanese cleric referred to Saudi Arabia’s efforts to normalize relations with Israel, saying that while this country, which calls itself the “Custodian of the Two Holy Shrines,” has issued seditious and divisive fatwas in which they call other Muslims infidels, no such fatwa has been heard from this country in regard to a boycott of relations with Israel.
“Also, they haven’t issued any fatwa about the Takfiri groups in Syria, the weapons and money from the Saudi government, taking commands from the Zionist enemy or that Saudi Arabia has resorted to political and economic relations with the Zionist regime,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Qawouq stressed that the image and prestige of Saudi Arabia is no longer what it used to be because the Saudi crown is stained with the blood of the martyrs of their massacres in Yemen and their shameful attempts at normalizing relations with Israel.
He concluded, saying, “In contrast, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon is the jewel on the Arabs’ crown and is the reason for the victory, dignity and glory of the Arab and Islamic nations.”
