Rasa – The head of International Union of Resistance Scholars described the attempts by some Arab regimes to transfer their animosity to Iran from the Zionist regime as a great tragedy.

RNA – Shaykh Maher Hammoud strongly criticized the efforts of some Arab countries to normalize relations with the Zionist regime, saying that some Arab regimes have been ravaged by a fever, believing that relations with the Zionist regime are a prelude to peace and seek to officially recognize this regime and abandon the issue of Palestine.

The head of International Union of Resistance Scholars said this issue began with the signing of the Camp David Accords in 1978, saying, “We announced our opposition at the time the deal was announced, but some have claimed that Egypt has faced three exhausting wars which badly damaged the nation and its economy.”

“We do not accept this explanation but our question is that if your explanation is correct for Egypt, what excuse do you have for Saudi Arabia’s normalization of relations with Israel?” he asked.

Shaykh Hammoud wondered what Saudi Arabia has offered Palestine and what theoretical wars have they abandoned in order to normalize relations with the Zionist entity and to achieve what they want?

The Lebanese Sunni scholar said it is a great tragedy that Arab regimes claim that Arabs should seek assistance from Israel and its allies to help to prevent the spread of Iranian terrorism. “Unfortunately, many people have been deceived by these claims,” he said.

He said that after Saudi Arabia’s normalization of relations with Israel, this process is spreading to the rest of the Islamic world and added that after Mohammad Morsi’s letter of commitment to Israel, we saw that the head of Egypt’s Salafist Nour Party, Nader Bakkar, meet with former Israeli Minister of Justice, Tzipi Livni, in the United States in April 2016.

Shaykh Hammoud denounced the Arab League’s attacks against Iran and added the Arab regimes revere individuals such as Ahmad Abul-Ghayt, who supported the Israeli war on Gaza and elected him as the secretary-general of the Arab League, but that the Egyptian people reject normalization with Israel.

He said that the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] is a major barrier to the Zionists in Lebanon, their plots in Syria and Iraq are about to fail, the warriors have been victorious in Yemen and Takfiri terrorists are caught in a growing scandal.

“With all these issues, why should we seek normalization with the Zionist enemy?” he said.
