Ayatollah Araki meets with Syrian Foreign Minister:

RNA – Heading a delegation to Syria, the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, met with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mu’allim where they discussed recent changes in the country and the remaining threats facing Syria.

 

“The Syrian nation enjoy high scientific, religious and social capacities all of which can be used for serving the Islamic world,” Ayatollah Araki noted in the meeting, wherein he also announced Iran’s leading unity centre’s readiness for taking measures in this regard.

 

Ayatollah Araki referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance of standing by Syria against Takfiri groups and extremists and voiced his sincere hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran continues its good relations with Syria.

 

The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought hailed the role of clerics in fighting terrorism.

 

He stressed that the Syrian nation can triumph over Takfiris in the Islamic world and in doing so they need the government’s support.

 

Welcoming Ayatollah Araki, the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mu’allim stressed the current situation in Syria, saying did that the conflict doesn’t stem from differences among Islamic sects since Muslims from different Islamic sects and denominations have got along well during history.

 

“The current political turmoil in Syria was engineered by the Zionist regime and those fanning the flame of conflicts in Syria will face a fiasco in the long run,” highlighted the Syrian politician.

 

“The main threat facing Syria is Wahhabism and those who supported al-Qaedah now support ISIL,” the Syrian Foreign Minister emphasized.
