RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Hasan-Ali al-Tariki, a Bahraini scholar and director of the Centre for Islamic Culture and Media in London, said that the Al Khalifah regime’s charges against Ayatollah Isa Qasim, the spiritual leader of Bahrain’s Shi’as, for “illegal fund collections and money laundering” are “completely hypocritical and unacceptable and merely a prelude to the unraveling of the Al Khalifah regime by this great scholar.”

He added that through these accusations, the regime is attempting to create the necessary legislation to the deportation of Ayatollah Qasim orchestrate the necessary legislation to exile him.

“Anyone who has a basic knowledge of the Bahraini Shi’a leader knows that the charges of supporting terrorism against him do not correspond at all with the performance and personality of Ayatollah Qasim,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Tariki said that Ayatollah Qasim will never leave the country and the Muslim nation of Bahrain will not allow this and Muslims will never allow the Manama regime to undermine the sanctity of their leader and pass their red lines.

“The Al Khalifah’s measures against Ayatollah Qasim are much more worrying because he is the main cause of security in Bahrain,” he said.

The Bahraini cleric said the attempts to exile Ayatollah Qasim are among the activities against the security of the country that have led to the country’s current internal situation. Before inflaming the situation in the country, is a better idea for the Al Khalifah reflect on their actions, otherwise they can expect great conflict in Bahrain.

“Bahrain is on the verge of a major conflict and if the regime has any sense of rationality, they would try to calm the situation. If they don't, the situation in Bahrain will become worse than it is now,” he stressed.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Tariki stressed that the actions taken against Ayatollah Qasim are strange because he has spared no efforts to maintain the peacefulness of the protests throughout the last few years, saying: “Despite of all oppression and injustice, Ayatollah Qasim has tried to maintain calmness among the angry youth and not let the situation get out of control.”
