RNA – Speaking at an academic and media seminar in regard to the upcoming International al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day, Brigadier-General Ramazan Sharif, the head of the Committee for the Intifada and al-Quds, referred to the recent developments in Palestine.
He said that with the Islamic Revolution in Iran there was a change in the foundations and fundamental outlook of Iran’s foreign policy, particularly in regard to Palestine and opposition to the Zionist regime.
“This had a crucial transformations on the developments and events in the Middle East,” he said.
He said that despite the extensive efforts and multiple scenarios of the imperial powers of the world and Zionists to divert public opinion away from the crimes of the usurper Zionist regime, the issue of Palestinian remains the central issue and axis of the Islamic world.
Brigadier-General Sharif stated that the Zionist regime’s military strategy is to launch of proxy wars and creation of conflicts in the Islamic world in order to create a safe margin for their false regime.
“The new phase of the anti-Zionist resistance and the third Intifada, in which more than 285 people have been martyred and a large number of wounded, indicates the dynamics of the resistance movement in the struggle against the Zionist regime,” he said.
The Public Relations Officer of the IRGC stated with regret that some countries who used to struggle with Israel in the recent past, now want to foster a formal relationship with this false blood-soaked regime, but their foolish dependent and rulers in the region must should know that they must respond to the public opinion of the Islamic world.
Brigadier-General Sharif further stated that the International al-Quds Day has a great impact on keeping the Palestinian issue alive and keeping public opinion focused on the Zionist regime’s many crimes.
He said the inspiration of the Islamic Revolution was a landmark in the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist regime.
al-Quds Day is an annual event taking place on the fourth Friday of the month of Ramadan. It was the idea of the late founder of the Islamic revolution in Iran Ayatollah Khomeini. The commemorations spread worldwide in defiance of Israel's systematic annexation of Palestinian land.
