RNA – Speaking at a meeting Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri stated that the enemies have many plans to influence the culture of Iranian society and added that the clergy have played an important role in strengthening Islam in order to confront the enemies’ plans.
“The clergy and scholars are the chief propagators of culture in Islamic societies and their words and actions should be treated as the words of the Infallibles. This represents their grand and lofty position in society,” he said.
He said that another role of the clergy is to transmit norms and anomalies to society and explained that the people obtain Islamic values, norms and ethics from the clergy and if these attributes are explained in a proper manner, the people will readily accept them but if they are not explained properly, the people will accept that which is incorrect and follow those incorrect manners instead.
Describing the attributes of the Prophet Muhammad, the director of Iran’s Islamic Seminaries described the Prophet as a “great model” for clerics, saying that the Prophet was always concerned about the people and was always thinking about his society. He praised the good work in his community and worked hard to strengthen good works and actions.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri described the clergy as the border guards of Islam, who have a duty to prevent the enemies from permeating the culture of society, destroying religion in society and undermining the Islamic government in Iran, which is their ultimate goal.
