RNA – A group of scholars and students from the Islamic Seminaries in Najaf have visited the battlefields near the town of al-Karmah, on the outskirts of Fallujah, on behalf of the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad-Sa’id al-Hakim, a revered Iraqi source of emulation.

On Friday, army forces raised the Iraqi national flag over the main government compound in Fallujah, symbolizing the recapture of the beleaguered western city from Daesh, which had seized the city in January 2014.

During the visit, they presented the advice and greetings of Ayatollah al-Hakim to the Iraqi commanders and fighters.

Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Muhammad al-Hakim, the head of the group, said: “We visited the Ali al-Akbar Battalion, which is attached to the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn and is under the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, and reminded the fighters that when they go into areas under the control of terrorists and extremist Takfiri groups, they must take the necessary precautions.”

The Iraqi cleric also emphasized the need to protect the lives of innocent people and said those fighting in the operation to liberate Fallujah must be careful to protect the lives of the innocent people and provide them with the necessary assistance.

He said Iraqi fighters should devote part of their time to prayer and remembrance of God and not forget that all these victories and successes are obtained by the hand of Imam al-Mahdi.

Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Muhammad al-Hakim stressed that that during the liberation of Fallujah, the Popular Mobilization Forces must abide by the standards of Islamic law and respect the sanctity of the city’s holy sites.
