RNA – Speaking on the occasion of the first phase of the operation of the new barracks of Army Commando Brigade 121 in Tabriz, Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan, the Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces said: “Fighting against terrorist groups has always been one of the military and defensive policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He expressed that the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the destruction of ISIL and other terrorist groups from beyond its borders.
He added terrorist groups like ISIL are born due to the proliferation of Islamophobia, which has advanced the path of sedition due to the support of the imperial powers of the world, including the United States.
Commander Pourdastan stressed that terrorist groups in the region aim at supporting and launching an attack on the Islamic system of government in Iran. He said any movement by the enemies against Iran’s territorial integrity from beyond it’s borders is being monitored closely.
“By the grace of God, through the efforts of the warriors of the Islamic Resistance Front, the destruction of ISIL is eminent,” he said.
He said that the purpose of the US’ invasion of Iraq was to launch a attack against Iran’s Islamic Revolution and added that the presence of a vigilant and knowledgeable leader, prepared armed forces and supportive people, the US has given up on their idea of a military attack on Iran and they have chosen a new strategy of sectarian war.
The Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces explained that the imperialist powers seek to involve the Islamic Republic in their plots and said: “In such circumstances we have no time to lose and every person in every trench must use all their strength and energy to fight against the enemies conspiracies.”
He said that Iran’s armed forces are seeking to surprise the enemies and said the main duty of the armed forces is protecting unity, avoiding a sectarian outlook and absolute adherence to the General Command. “ In all arenas, we are watching for probable threats by the enemies and proportional to that, we have established defensive capabilities,” he said.
