RNA – Activists from Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, the biggest Shi’a political-religious party in Pakistan, have staged a countrywide hunger strike in the major cities of Pakistan in solidarity with the five day-long hunger strike of MWM Pakistan Secretary General Allamah Raja Nasir Abbas Ja’fari in Islamabad due to the recent spate of murders of Shi’a Muslims in the South Asian country and against the plot to divide Pakistan on sectarian grounds.
The hunger strikes of Majlis-e-Wahadat-ul-Muslameen are being held in Lahore, Faisalabad, Skardu, Muzaffarabad (Kashmir), Karachi, Sargodha, Quetta, Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Nawabshah, Matli, Khairpur, Sajjawal and other cities of the country for the past last three days in solidarity with their leader, who has been on a hunger strike in Islamabad since last Friday in protest of the ongoing genocide of Pakistani Shi’as.
The protesting MWM activists said that Allamah Ja’fari started his hunger strike against the target killing of Shi’a scholars, terrorism, the plot to divide Pakistan on sectarian grounds and hate speeches, and they would carry on their hunger strike as long as their leader is on strike.
