RNA – The prominent Iranian producer, writer, director and actor Farajollah Salahshour has passed away at the age of 63.

 

The director of the blockbuster religious series “Prophet Joseph” died after suffering from lung cancer on Saturday.

 

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has offered condolences over the death of the acclaimed Iranian director.

 

The Leader praised Salahshour for his great and lasting works which spread Iran's borders and granted prestige to the country’s cinema industry among other nations.

 

Born in the Iranian city of Qazvin in 1952, he entered the realm of art with theater acting. He made his movie debut with “Eternal Repentance” (1982).

 

He has directed a number of movies such as “Prophet Job” (1993). He also wrote, produced and directed the TV series “Prophet Joseph” (2007) and “The Men of Angelos” (1997). Both series which narrate stories borrowed from the Holy Quran have gained worldwide fame.
