Rasa – On the sidelines of his visit to Azerbaijan, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani, he visited Baku’s Lady Hakimah shrine and the largest mosque in the Caucasus region and met with various religious dignitaries in the country.

RNA – On the sidelines of his trip to Azerbaijan, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani made a pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Lady Hakimah, the daughter of the seventh Shi’a Imam Musa al-Kadhim who is buried in Baku, in what is known as the Bibi Heybat Mosque.

 

The revered Iranian source of emulation greeted pilgrims gathered in the intimate and spiritual space. He also met and spoke with a number of pilgrims there.

 

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani then visited the Heydar Mosque, the largest mosque in the Caucasus region. During the visit, he described the effects and benefits of establishing mosques to group of Shi’a worshippers there.

 

His Eminence said that throughout history, mosques have been places where important political, cultural, social and economic decisions have been made. “The Prophet Muhammad and the Pure Imams recognised mosques in this special manner,” he said.
 

After the program, he also paid tribute to the martyrs of Azerbaijan.

 

Also during the trip, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani met with religious dignitaries including Shaykh al-Islam Allahshükür Hummat Pashazade, the Grand Mufti of the Caucasus and Azerbaijan’s highest Shi’a-Sunni religious figure.

 

Azerbaijani religious figures described Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani’s initiatives as “commendable” during his visit to the country.

 

The source of emulation began his five-day trip to the predominantly Shi’a former Soviet republic on August 31. He has a many programs scheduled during his trip.
