RNA - "the rendering by Zeynalov, a Russian native speaker and student of Al-Mustafa International University, will be published by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ends on March 20, 2016)," Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Naghdi said.

He said it took the translator 5 years to complete the work, adding that the translation has been done without any denominational prejudices.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Naghdi it will be published in large numbers by a Russian publication.

He said translation of the Quran in different languages is aimed at helping Muslims around the world to benefit more from the Holy Book.

According to Iqna, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Naghdi had noted in another interview with IQNA last week that the Quran has so far been translated into the Russian language 13 times.

He said the Quran translation by Nikolayev was one of the earliest done in Russian, adding that it was completed in 1864 and published in Moscow in 622 pages.

There have been other renderings such as those by G. S. Sablukov (1993), V. M. Porokhova (2003, Damascus), N. O. Othmanov (1995 and reprinted in 1999, Moscow), D. N. Boguslavsky (2000, Istanbul), and I. Yu. Krachkovsky (2002, Minsk), he went on to say.
