Rasa - Three days after a Shia mosque in Kuwait was attacked by a suicide bomber killing 27 including two Indians, the Mumbai police on Monday provided protection to two leading mosques and deployed cops in huge number around the mosques.

RNA - A suicide bomber blown himself during Friday prayers at Imam Sadiq (AS) Mosque in Kuwait killing 27 and injuring over a hundred.

 

Two Uttar Pradesh youths, Ibne Abbas from Ambedkar Nagar and Sayyed Rizwan from Sultanpur, were among those killed in the deadly blast.

 

Senior Mumbai police officials said that they had reviewed the situation and beefed up security across several mosques in the city. The two mosques are Mughal Masjid at Bhendi Bazar and Khoja Masjid at Dongri, the Times of India reported.

 

Safdar Karmali, president Khoja Masjid trust said, "There is no danger in Mumbai. However, we appreciate police's move to provide protection." Mohammed Abbas Rizwan, President Muslim Association for Peace and Harmony said, "The idea of attacking a place of worship or mosque does not exist in India. There is no problem among faiths. We all live together. We are happy that police were too prompt in providing protection."

 

Maulana Aamir Abbas Rizvi, said, "There is unity among the Muslims of all faiths in India. We don't have any fear and we all have great respect for each other and all mosques. If someone from outside India comes and plans some mischief, then we need to think. However, Indian Muslims cannot even think about it."
