
RNA - The Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in the South East Asian country’s capital city hosted the opening ceremony, Iran's Quran News Agency reported.
Participants from over 70 countries are attending the five-day Quranic event, which is held in two categories of memorization and recitation of the Quran.
The memorization category was added to the contest last year.
The competition will be adjudicated by 15 Quran experts from, among others, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Unity the Pulse of a Nation’s Transformation.
Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the recitation category of Malaysia’s international Quranic contest.
