Islamic Hijab
Rasa News Agency Reports – The section for Islamic hijab in the Museum of World Religion has officially been open in Nicolet Canada.
Andrian Parker a canadian Anthropologist by opening this section had in mind to portray a new and distant from extremist view on Islamic Hijab and remove the wrong and mistaken view towards the Islamic head scarfs.
The section is formed by different pictures of ladies wearing the hijab and quoting their view about hijab.
Andrian Parker in stating his goal on creating this section said: “We want to look at Hijab as a social order and spread our views on it.”
This Anthropologist further explained: “Our goal in creating this section is to remove the views that many non muslim people have towards Muslims and Hijab.”
He added: “The view of non muslims towards a muslim and a muslim lady, is very far from reality; thus our goals from launching this section for Islamic Hijab is to fight against the wrong image people have towards veiled women because it is due to this wrong view that veiled women are subjected to insult and oppression.”
John Francais Royal who is the manager of the museum stated: “We are trying to give a positive image of the Hijab because this is the true image which has not been shown yet.”
He continued saying: “Our Islamic hijab section is one filled with happiness; because hijab for many women are chosen by them and muslim women are satisfied to wear the hijab and in contrary to the view of many people which think this is a forced act upon them, by wearing the hijab they feel a sense of happiness and success.”
It is note worthy that the section will be open till 2014 and alongside the opening of this section conferences and discussions are to be held.
