Qazi-Askar, who is in Italy to meet Vatican officials, referred to Islam and Christianity as the two most popular religions in the world today, saying that the two can have interactions on a variety of issues.
"The human society today is faced with a serious danger due to the spread of violence and war, and we should try to help mercy, justice, and international peace rule everywhere in the world," Qazi-Askar added.
Cardinal Sandri, for his part, described the Iranian official’s remarks as important and considerable, and expressed the hope that serious steps are taken for mutual cooperation.
