In the Islamic Seminary of Fadhiya
Rasa – Islamic Seminary student, Islamic scholars and figures today in the Holy city of Qom protested the destruction of the prophet companion shrine Hijr son of Adi by the Rebel forces in Syria.
Rasa News Agency Reports – A massive turnout of Islamic scholars, students and figures today in the Islamic Seminary school of Fadhiya protested the destruction and disrespect of the grave of the Prophet companions Hijr son of Adi.
Amongst the protesters Ayatollah Husseini Bushahri, Ayatollah Murtadha Muqtadai and other great figures were present.
The students of the Islamic seminary in the protest showed their outrage through shouting out slogans the likes of "Allah is great, there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger and America is the enemy of God, Israel is the enemy of God, death to Israel and Wow if Khamenei gives the verdict of Jihad, for no army can confront such a verdict."
During the protests a message from Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani and Ayatollah Nasser Makarim Shirazi was read to the audience condemning the desecration of the holy site.
According to this report Ayatollah Reda Ostandari who is the one of the Friday prayer leaders of Qom condemned the silence of the global community about this act and said: "When it comes to a criminal in Iran facing death penalty the global community voice their opposition and make it such a big issue but when it comes to the killing of Muslims they keep silent and this has caused them not to have any reputation at all."
He said: "The international media system which are the slaves of the enemy by hiding the truth in Syria, Iraq and Bahrain are taking part of the crimes being done there.
In other parts of the Friday prayer leader speech he stated: "In the past fourteen century there was many graves that belong to great personalities which were mainly in populated Sunni areas but none of them received desecration, destruction or disrespect by the Sunni scholars."
Ayatollah Ostandari in asking the Islamic scholars to condemn the Wahabi act expressed: "The verdict to destroy the graves of the Imams which came from a group of ignorant people put a responsibility on the Islamic scholars to confront and respond to this issue."
The Islamic seminary after the destruction of the shrine of Hijr ibn Adi cancelled their classes on Saturday in order to protest this act and in different statements showed their opposition towards such an act.
Also Sheikh Khalil Shawi who is the speaker of Kawakibi Mosque in the Syrian city of Halb and Sheikh Mustafa Ismail who is the speaker of TarToos Mosque in Syria spoke during the event and stated that the desecration of the grave of Hijr ibn Adi was very shameful and unislamic.
