RNA - The Muslim Association of Brantford, a city southwestern Ontario, Canada, will hold an open house on Saturday, March 21 from noon to 5 p.m., at the Brantford mosque at 192 Greenwich St.
According to Brantford Expositor opening remarks will be made at 12:30 p.m., followed by hourly mosque tours, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., led by Imam Noman Tarek and offering visitors the opportunity to know more about the mosque, its community, faith and culture. Light refreshments will be served.
The local mosque has held several open houses in recent years and it was time for another, said Dr. Raza Khan.
"Because of ISIS and trouble in the Middle East and anti-Muslim sentiment," it was decided to open the doors of the mosque to the community, Khan said.
The local Muslim community includes about 100 families, he said.
"We welcome people to come and meet with us," Khan said.
