Sheikh Shawki Allam

RNA - In a meeting with Mauritania’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Allam said it is necessary to confront the Takfiri groups in order to prevent the distortion of Islam’s image in the world, al-Yawm al-Sabi website reported.

He further referred to the destruction of historical sites in Iraq by the ISIL Takfiri group and condemned such groups’ actions in spreading insecurity and violence.

Allam stated that Islam puts a lot of emphasis on maintaining security and stability.

Since last year, Iraq has been facing a growing militancy by the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group and its allied militants, who have taken over areas in the country’s west and north.

The ISIL terrorists have been committing heinous crimes in the areas they have taken, including the mass execution of civilians as well as Iraqi army troops and officers.
