Rasa - Iran’s cultural attaché in Japan and director of Turkey’s Cultural Center in Tokyo have agreed to jointly organize a Quran competition in the East Asian country.

RNA - The idea was suggested by Hushang Ali Madadi, head of Iranian Cultural Center in Japan, in a meeting with Muhammad Rashid Alas, director of the Cultural Center affiliated to Turkey’s Dianat Organization and imam of the Grand Mosque in Tokyo, Iran's Quran News Agency reported.

 

During the meeting, the Iranian official also elaborated on the activities and programs of the Iranian Cultural Center in Japan and religious and cultural commonalities as well as long lasting brotherhood and friendship between Iran and Turkey.

 

He further suggested that the two countries organize seminars, forums, exhibitions, particularly exhibitions of calligraphy and Quranic artworks given the special status of Iranian and Turkish artists in the world.

 

He added that Iran is ready to cooperate with the Turkish cultural center to organize the first edition of a national Quran competition in Japan.

 

The Turkish representative, for his part, talked about the history of the mosque and its programs and considered joint activities as valuable and important.

 

He expressed his willingness for cultural and religious cooperation with the Iranian center stating that the Turkish Cultural Center belongs to Muslims and welcomes the Iranian suggestion.

 

The two parties stressed the importance of unity among Muslims and described it as a necessity for the Islamic society.
