RNA - On Friday, terrorists blew themselves up in the emir’s mosque. The attack at the Grand Mosque in Kano left at least 120 people dead and 270 wounded.
Witnesses say those who weren’t killed by the initial blasts were shot by advancing gunmen afterwards and targeted by another suicide bomber outside the mosque.
The attack came Two weeks after the dramatic speech by the emir of Kano, one of Nigeria’s most influential clerics in which he urged civilians to take up arms against Boko Haram.
Most of the victims were men and children. The death toll is expected to rise as many of those injured were listed in critical condition.
Although no group took responsibility for the attack, it had all the markings of Boko Haram. The militant terrorist group has terrorized Nigeria since 2009, using horrific violence.
Updates: Reports say that a lady dressed in the Muslim Burkah with a bomb under her robe was caught at Murtala Specialist Hospital Kano, where the victims of Friday’s terrorist attack were being treated.
The woman was pretending to pay a visit to a sick patient.
