Rasa - The Kaliningrad Central Court fined a Russian bus company that refused to carry a passenger wearing a hijab.
RNA - The plaintiff filed a lawsuit for moral damages against West Line 2. In her claim, the woman stated that last June she and her mother, both wearing hijabs, boarded a bus. At the next stop, the driver approached them and asked to leave the bus, RAPSI reported.
To avoid a conflict, the plaintiff and her mother did as they were told. Later, the woman sent a written complaint to the defendant but received no response. After that she turned to the court.
The court ruled that the defendant pay 22,000 rubles ($457), including 10,000 rubles ($208) in moral damages.
