Rasa News Agency reports – Reports coming out of Iraq shows that the besieged Shiite town of Amerli that had been under the siege of ISIS is freed and one of the Turkmen leaders of the town, Jasim Mohammad Jafar confirms the story.

 

The town had been sieged for nearly 81 days by the ISIS terrorists and the people inside had been living under the harsh circumstances, the witnesses say.

 

According to the reports, the residents of Amerli have received the first shipments of food, immediately after the siege was lifted by the Iraqi army troops backed by volunteers.

 

The residents are now celebrating the break of siege and “the situation is getting back to normal” according to the officials.

 

Later today, the ex-PM of Iraq, Nouri al-Maleki has congratulated the victory, calling it a “great achievement”. The ex-PM made the remarks during his phone call with the security and army officials of Iraq.
