Iranian FM:
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced concern that unilateralism practiced by certain world states is endangering the global peace and security.

RNA - "The idea that has brought us together is a very simple message but strong at the same time that ancient civilizations are important and have remarkable relations with today's world," Zarif said, addressing a meeting with foreign ministers of member states of Association of Ancient Civilizations in New York on Wednesday.

Ancient civilizations indicate diversity and various colors in human community which per se rejects hegemony of a single culture and civilization, he said, noting that tendency towards unilateralism and ideas of cultural and civilizational dominance are threats for all nations' peace and security.

"We as the inheritors of all ancient civilizations should honor that respecting humanity is deeply rooted in our societies," Zarif said.

Greece, China, Bolivia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Peru and Armenia as cradles of ancient civilizations have founded the international entity.

In relevant remarks in July, Zarif categorically condemned the foreign policy adopted by the White House, warning that the new wave of Washington’s unilateralism and adventurism was a serious threat to global peace and security.

Addressing a meeting of top diplomats from the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Caracas, Venezuela, Zarif said Washington's modern wave of extremist, unilateral adventurism is the most significant challenge that almost all countries around the world are facing in a way or another.

Zarif made the remarks in a clear reference to a raft of tough economic sanctions imposed by the US on countries like Iran and Venezuela.
