RNA - “Your daily reminder that #Israel possesses the only nuclear weapons in our region and how US duplicity was as rampant 40 years ago as it is today,” the top Iranian diplomat wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
In relevant remarks earlier in September, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations Kazzem Qaribabadi reiterated that his country is conducting utmost transparency in its nuclear program, adding that the maximum pressure campaign is doomed to failure.
“I would like to reaffirm that all nuclear activities in Iran are conducted in the outmost transparent manner and are under the Agency’s verification and monitoring and there is no concealed nuclear activity,” Qaribabadi said before the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy agency (IAEA), dismissing all anti-Tehran allegations in with regard to its nuclear program.
The Iranian ambassador stressed that while the US has prioritized its anti-Tehran campaign of “maximum pressure” on top of its foreign policy agenda, Iran’s history is full of illustrations to substantiate that such a policy is “doomed to fail”.
“The destructive behavior of the US and the economic terrorism pursued by its current Administration against the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries, should be stopped. Violation of the UN-Security Council resolution by the US, and thereby, imposing unilateral unlawful sanctions against Iran, is endangering the only significant achievement of diplomacy in the region in recent decades. The International Community should also stand up to this wrong habit of the US in manipulating the power of Dollar as a weapon against other independent States,” he went on saying.
He warned against the destructive role of the US and Israel in trying to dampen “constructive relations” between Iran and the IAEA.
The Iranian envoy added that his country appreciates efforts of some signatory states to the nuclear deal, officially known as the JCPOA, to save the agreement, reminding that Tehran has always welcomed further talks and cooperation for salvaging the accord.
Referring to pressures against Iran, which is partly exerted through running anti-Iran smear campaigns on mainstream media, Qaribabadi said, “For the Islamic Republic of Iran, such show-offs have no value, and according to the decision taken by the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, steps designed to cease the obligations under the JCPOA in a 60-day intervals will be pursued vigorously, and will not be influenced by such artificial media mainstreaming.”
