RNA – Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli received a group of Iranian cultural activists at Isra International Foundation in Qom on Saturday, January 14.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli asserted, “The best form of art is created when the artist is self-aware of his or her entity. No piece of art would be created unless the artist is fully aware of their potentials. Any act of art must be intended to last forever. If the artists sincerely believe so, their art would bear rewarding results and last forever.”
Speaking on the significant impact of cinema compared to other media, Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli added, “In different eras, different mediums are available to people for promoting divine teachings. in our time, cinema serves as the best means of promoting divine teachings, since the general audience are drawn to it.”
He added, “The reason for this publicity of cinema lies in the fact that it addresses all human senses and perceptions. If the actors sincerely believe in what they say or act in a movie, the audience would also feel it, hence their acting would have deeper effects on the viewers.”
“Art must be devoted to promote concepts such as humanity, human dignity as well as the common features between mankind and the angels. the world is in need of such teachings,” Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli concluded.
