RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Jawad Naqawi, the ‎principal of Jami’at Urwat al-Wuthqa Islamic Seminary in the Pakistani city of Lahore said, “Over the past ‎week, there have been great unrest in Indian-occupied Kashmir and many youths were martyred.”‎

The Pakistani scholar added, “Due to local issues in Pakistan, many people have forgotten the issue of ‎Kashmir. The television media does not discusses this issue, you will only find this issue discussed in some ‎newspapers on an inside page – but even that is rare. Even on social media, people have forgotten the issue ‎of Kashmir and Palestine.”‎

In regard to Palestine, Hujjat al-Islam Naqawi said, “On Friday, the Palestinians protested and reached the ‎border where they suffered atrocities from Israel. They expressed their intention to get their land back. ‎Similarly in Kashmir, there is one sided aggression and no global institutions speak about this and although ‎Pakistan has raised its voice, it has been suppressed.”‎

Indian forces have reportedly killed six militants in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir, as tensions and ‎fatalities rise in the region.‎

On Sunday, a report by New Delhi Television (NDTV) said that an Indian soldier had died and six militants ‎had been killed in an exchange of fire in the Shopian district of Indian-administered Kashmir.‎

Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed region located between India and Pakistan. The two nuclear-armed rivals ‎have fought four wars since their partition in 1947, three of them over Kashmir.‎

New Delhi has deployed hundreds of thousands of special military and police forces to crack down on ‎protesters opposed to New Delhi’s rule over the Muslim region.‎
