Rasa - Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Ali Alavi-Gorgani has met with a group of law enforcement personnel from across Iran. He pointed to the approaching holy month of Ramadhan, where Muslims fast from dawn until dusk. He said that the many holy names given to this blessed month is a sign of its greatness.

Rasa News Agency reports - Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Ali Alavi-Gorgani has met with a group of law enforcement personnel from across Iran. He pointed to the approaching holy month of Ramadhan, where Muslims fast from dawn until dusk. He said that the many holy names given to this blessed month is a sign of its greatness.

 

His Eminence emphasized that Ramadhan is a month of sincere intentions and purity: “All must prepare themselves for this glorious month. God is aware of all of His servants’ sins and of their intentions [but] the mercy of God encompasses all of his servants. The holy month of Ramadhan is the best opportunity for gaining knowledge and for repentance. [A Muslim] must behave in such as way that leads them towards God’s grace.”

 

Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani explained that the role of hope in man’s life must be taken into consideration: “The movement of man on the path of growth and excellence is achieved by hope.”

 

He stressed the need to exercise good intentions: “God bestows great rewards when honest efforts are performed with good intentions.”

 

His Eminence explained that all actions must be accomplished for the sake of God and His pleasure as sincere efforts in His name will lead to happiness in this life and in the hereafter.

 

“God sent prophets to guide and mankind towards perfection. This is their most important characteristic,” Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani added.

 

In reference to the hardships and tribulations that the Prophet Muhammad faced in his efforts to guide mankind toward Islam, Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani explained that the Prophet spared nothing in order to guide people to the right path.

He stressed the need for self-purification and emphasized that we should act in accordance to God’s divine commands as this makes man blessed and happy.
