RNA - "The big powers have created and supported the terrorist groups. The US, West and the Zionist regime are supporters of terrorist groups' activities in Iran," Rouhani said in a meeting with Pakistani Parliament Speaker Assad Qaiser in Tehran on Saturday.

He underlined the necessity for serious steps by Iran and Pakistan to fight against terrorism, saying, "Unfortunately, some grouplets misuse the borders between Iran and Pakistan which should be the borders of brotherhood and friendship between the two countries."

According to Fars News Agancy, President Rouhani also expressed the hope that "the 7 Iranian border guards who are still in captivity in Pakistan after they were taken hostage by the terrorist groups will be freed as soon as possible through the Pakistani army's more serious actions and return to Iran safe and sound."

12 Iranian border guards were abducted on Oct. 16 by the so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group, which is based in Pakistan.

Five of the abducted border guards returned home on November 22, a statement by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.

Thanks to “hard work and interactions with the Pakistani side” five of the 12 forces, who were kidnapped in October by the so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group, are back home, the statement said.

It also stressed that efforts would continue to secure release the remaining Iranian captives, appreciating the patience of the abductees' families.
