RNA - "Synergy between the Iranian Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s Navy and support of other Armed Forces have turned the Islamic Republic into the ruler and protector of the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman," General Moussavi said, addressing a ceremony to launch the country's most advanced home-made destroyer, Sahand, in the Southern waters of Iran in Hormozgan province on Saturday.

He added that this synergy also empowers Iran to give a crushing response to enemies' moves to foment insecurity in the region, warning that the hegemonic powers, headed by the US and Israel, attempt to make the regional states insecure.

According to Fars News Agancy,  General Moussavi said that Iran has been for 40 years fighting against these countries which violate the human rights. "It will not take long for us to witness annihilation and disgrace of these disloyal international powers."

His remarks came after Iranian Deputy Navy Commander for Coordination Rear Admiral Hamzeh Ali Kaviani said Efforts by Iran's Naval forces to establish security in the region had forced the US and other western states to narrow down their deployment in the Persian Gulf.

"The neighboring countries should know that the trans-regional states are after their own interests here and if their presence, specially the Americans, in the region has decreased, you may rest assured that it has been due to the increasing deployment of the Iranian Navy and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy in the sea," Rear Admiral Kaviani told FNA last Monday.

He stressed that Iran's power served security in the region, and said the regional states are themselves capable of establishing security and the foreign forces should leave the region as soon as possible.

Asked to comment on the complaints of the US naval commanders about Iranian drones flying in the Persian Gulf, Rear Admiral Kaviani said, "What they say doesn't matter to us; we do our job and we deploy in any necessary place and conduct reconnaissance operations."
