Karbala Friday Prayer Leader:‎
Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said that Imam al-Husayn was martyred in order to reform the ‎nation of his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad.‎
Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi

RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large crowd of believers and mourners ‎at the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Husayn in the Iraqi city of Karbala, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid ‎Ahmad al-Safi said, “Reform cannot be made through force but rather it requires guidance ‎and advice.”

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani added, “Many rulers and sultans ‎have resorted to force to implement their reforms but they didn’t achieve their desired ‎results because they forgot that they themselves are in need of reform.”‎

He said that people must listen to the recommendations and noted, “The people must also ‎not try to avoid the responsibility for reform and listen to the advisors.”‎

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said that the movement of Imam al-Husayn confronted the deceptive ‎propaganda of the enemies and in the court of the caliph Yazid ibn Mu’awiyah, Imam Ali ibn ‎al-Husayn (known as Imam Zayn al-Abidin) exposed and disgraced his oppressive ‎government. ‎

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Hadhrat Abbas stated that the brainwashing and ‎manipulation of the people by the negative and poisonous propaganda of the enemies was ‎one of the main problems that Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn faced during his lifetime. ‎

‎“Imam Zayn al-Abidin strove hard to eliminate the negative effects of the enemies’ ‎propaganda,” he added.‎

Hujjat al-Islam al-Safi said, “The people must know the path of truth and walk in this ‎direction.”‎

His Eminence emphasized that the enemies have never reduced the amount of their activities ‎to mislead people and use every trick to achieve their evil goals.‎

In conclusion, he said, “Some people are on the line of Imam al-Husayn but others are on ‎the other side and don’t listen to the truthful advice of the well-wishers. A person suffers ‎when he no longer listens to advice and fourteen centuries ago, the ‘Master of the Martyrs’ ‎offered this advise on the plains of Karbala, but the people don’t listen.”‎
