RNA - "Iraq is fighting terrorism in the same front with Iran," Hamoudi said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi in the Iraqi capital on Monday.

Hamoudi blasted the recent terrorist attack on an Iranian military parade held in the Southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz on Saturday, leaving 29 people killed and 70 others wounded.

"The US is in pursuit of policies to turn the region unstable and insecure by supporting such terrorist acts," the Iraqi official said.

Hamoudi stressed the need for help by the international community to confront and uproot terrorism, and said, "Tehran and Baghdad fight terrorism and conspiracies in the same front."

Masjedi, for his part, renewed Iran's support for solidarity of Iraq, and expressed the hope that consensus among the Iraqi parties would result in election of the country's president and prime minister as soon as possible.

In a relevant development on Saturday, Spokesman for Iraqi Foreign Ministry Ahmed Mahjoub said his country strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Ahwaz in which scores of military and civilian people were killed and wounded.

According to Fars News Agency, Mahjoub also reaffirmed Iraq's unchangeable stance in rejecting as unacceptable any act of violence under whatever pretext or motives in any country which endangers the security and stability of that country.

The Saturday terrorist attack on a military parade in Ahwaz left 29 people dead and 70 others injured.

Children and journalists were among the casualties. The al-Ahwazi separatist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

In relevant remarks on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that "Iran holds regional terror sponsors and their US masters accountable for such attacks."
