RNA – Speaking during a tree planting ceremony held in the Lebanese city of Baalbek, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Yazbek, the head of Hezbollah’s religious council, said, “We have many responsibilities, one of which is planting trees and paying attention to nature because trees support us.”

Referring to the destruction of trees by the Zionist regime on the border with Lebanon, the Lebanese cleric added, “The Zionist enemy engages in the uprooting of trees under various pretexts but the main purpose of their destruction of trees to destroy the people because the planting of any tree means the rooting of people in the land and the destruction of a tree means attempting to evict the citizens of this country.”

Hujjat al-Islam Yazbek insisted, “Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah [the secretary-general of Hezbollah] emphasizes the need for planting trees on the borders because we live in this land and we must plant trees whenever possible to protect ourselves and our children.”

His Eminence emphasized upon the necessity of solidary in the Islamic ummah after the decision by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and move its embassy to the holy city, saying, “Anyone who thinks Palestine will return to the Muslims while the ummah is divided and disconnected is definitely on the wrong side.”

Hujjat al-Islam Yazbek continued, “Through unity, we can liberate Palestine and by planting trees, we can honour the martyrs and the people of Palestine who still remain resistant despite the conspiracies against them.”

The senior Hezbollah official emphasized that we must stand alongside the Palestinian people and sacrifice our blood so that the land can return to the Muslims and the heart of the Islamic ummah can be soothed.

Referring to the 6 May parliamentary elections, Hujjat al-Islam Yazbek said, “The Lebanese people need to take this opportunity to work together to reach a common understanding, especially as we are on the verge of parliamentary elections. The people must be free to vote in this election.”
