Lebanese Sunni Scholar:
Rasa – Shaykh Zuhayr al-Ja’id referred to the American attacks and pressure against Iran, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is a strong fortress against the storm of sedition.”
RNA – Shaykh Zuhayr al-Ja’id, a Lebanese Sunni scholar and coordinator of the Islamic Action Front, spoke to Mohammad-Sadegh Fazli, the cultural advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran at his office in Beirut for discussions on current issues.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the Muslim world, especially the issue of Palestine after the decision of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the “capital” of Israel and move its embassy to the holy city on 6 December.
Referring to Iran’s support for the oppressed people of the world, Shaykh al-Ja’id, said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is the main proponent of the Palestinian cause and the Islamic Resistance Axis and is doing a great deal to strengthen approximation between the Islamic schools of thought and the unity of Muslims in order to counter the plots by the Zionist and American enemies.”
He added that despite the sanctions and economic pressure and the Iran-Iraq War it endured, “Iran remained a strong fortress against the storms of sedition and, with its allies, was able to achieve successive victories.”
The Sunni cleric emphasized that these victories are the reason for Trump’s anger and for his severe attacks against the Islamic Republic and, accordingly, he has tried to convince the West to cancel the nuclear deal [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] but surely all his efforts will be in vain.
Shaykh al-Ja’id stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is acquisitive of various Islamic groups and religions and honestly and devotedly supports the Palestinian groups in order to free this land and end the oppression against the oppressed nation.”
Following the visit, Minister Fazli said, “We met with Shaykh Zuhayr al-Ja’id and thanked the efforts of the Islamic Action Front towards unity of the Islamic schools of thought and for their struggle against sedition and support for the approximation of views.”
He added, “The United States and the Zionist regime are struggling to target the unity of the Islamic ummah and harm the Islamic Resistance Axis and end to the Palestinian cause. The Islamic Action Front is part of the core of resistance and contributes to its victories.”
Minister Fazli pointed out that unity among Muslims is the only way to achieve victory and liberate Palestine, its sacred places and to reclaim its usurped rights.
